UNION, NJ – For the first time, the Township of Union live streamed the Township Committee meeting on Facebook Tuesday night.

"The Township of Union prides itself on being a front runner in the utilization of new technology,” said Mayor Manuel Figueiredo.  “Not only were we one of the first townships in the State to televise our committee meetings, but we were the first in the County to convert our programming to HD. The ability to use live-streaming to reach our residents is another accomplishment we take great pride in."

Thanks to a new video server purchased late last year, the Township has been able to live stream events such as Union High School’s graduation and the Unity for Union program earlier this month.  “Live streaming this week’s Township Committee meeting on Facebook continues the Township’s commitment to utilizing technology to enhance communication with residents,” said the Township’s Public Information Officer Natalie Pineiro.

Future Township Committee meetings will be live streamed on Facebook.
