UNION, NJ – Union High School was placed on lock-down Tuesday afternoon for about an hour.

A High School Resource Officer received information of a student possibly armed with a handgun, according to Union Police Director Dan Zieser.  At 1:35 p.m. the school was placed in “lock-down, shelter in place” mode.

According to Zeiser, no weapon was found upon a subsequent search.  The original information was deemed ‘not credible’.  The lock-down was lifted at 2:20 p.m.
