UNION, NJ - A terroristic threat by a knife wielding man was made to a Union Animal Shelter worker as she arrived for work on Thursday morning.

Police say as a female animal shelter worker arrived to work on Thursday at about 9:00 a.m., a man with a knife approached and commented, “I think you guys should die beside the dogs”.  Police say the employee locked herself inside the shelter and called police.

The male suspect vanished into the county wooded area behind the shelter.  The employee told police she had seen the man at the shelter about a month prior, when he also made a similar comment to her.  He did not appear to be armed at the first encounter.
