UNION, NJ – The Township of Union Recreation Department will host its second Movie Under the Stars of the season, on Friday, Sept. 22 as part of Mayor’s Weekend, featuring a screening of the Disney hit Moana.
Held at Rabkin Park, the Movies Under the Stars draw residents from the far reaches of town, and provides a one of a kind source of family entertainment.
“We are so excited to provide families another reason to enjoy the outdoors,” said Mayor Suzette Cavadas. “This event is a great opportunity to gather with family and friends and enjoy the last bits of warm weather.”
The first movie of the season Sing, was held in June and featured a pre-movie performance by the Play Theater Kids Cabaret.
Moana, tells the story of the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with a goddess. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of saving her people.
Pre-movie entertainment will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the movie beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event is free of charge and free popcorn will be provided.
