UNION, NJ – The Summer Soul Session ‘Music Moves My Soul’ festival took place on Saturday at Herbie Davis Park with food, music and neighbors coming out to visit with neighbors.
The event was organized by Vauxhall residents Kevin Woodridge, Marla Williams, Darren Ransom and Paul Webb. “This is our small event, leading up to our big one in September,” said Williams. “The September event will be at Rabkin Park on September 9.
“It’s all about the community,” said Williams. “So many of the residents in Vauxhall have lived here their entire lives. It’s great to have everyone come together.”
Special recognition was given to Committeeman Clifton People, Jr., Union County Sheriff Joseph Cryan and Vauxhall resident and community activist Bertha Little Mathews.
“The community service and the love for our Vauxhall community is unwavering here,” said Little Mathews.
