“We are excited to be welcoming back members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra,” said Kenneth Bryson, president of SJSCS. “Their appearance as part of our inaugural season a year ago has sparked an important relationship for us, and has produced great opportunities for children and families from the community to become better acquainted with music and instruments.”

NJSO is the resident orchestra of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, and presents classical, pops and family programs, as well as outdoor summer concerts and special events.

In addition to its artistic programming, the NJSO presents a suite of education and community engagement programs that promote engagement with live music. In 2015, the SJSCS welcomed a woodwind quartet from the NJSO who explained their instruments through a narrated rendition of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

General admission for the concert is priced at $30, while children 12 and under admitted free of charge. Tickets can be purchased by visiting brownpapertickets.com or by calling 908-273-3846.
