UNION, NJ – A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Saturday afternoon at Norma’s Flowers, Union Center’s newest business.
Owners Norma Maldonado and her son Israel opened the store about four weeks ago. “I worked at a florist in Newark for over 20 years,” said Norma. “My son encouraged me to open my own store and I’m excited we are here.”
“It’s so important that we support our local businesses,” said Township of Union Mayor Suzette Cavadas, “especially a family business. We’re very happy to have you here.”
“As the President of the SID (Special Improvement District) and as a business owner in Union, it is great to welcome Norma’s Flowers to our downtown,” said ‘Here’s The Story’ bookstore owner Joe Leo. “This place is beautiful and Norma’s arrangements are beautiful.”
"I'm excited about our new addition to the Center," said Fatimah Raymond, Union's Economic Development Director. "These are the types of businesses we need to help grow our local economy."
Norma’s Flowers is located at 974B Stuyvesant Avenue.
