UNION, NJ - Union firefighters responding to a house fire at 1598 Van Ness Terrace, on the corner of Stanley Terrace, late Monday morning removed one victim from the residence.

An Irvington firefighter driving in the area discovered the fire. Firefighters from Union and Irvington battled the two-alarm blaze, according to Union Fire Chief Mike Scanio, who said the fire was contained to the front of the house and was extinguished within about 15 minutes.

No information on the victim's condition is currently available. The cause of the fire is under investigation. As information becomes available, TAPinto Union will update the story.
