UNION, NJ – At the Township Committee Meeting Tuesday night, Phyllis Monguso, a ‘Taste of Union’ event organizer, presented Jack Chacon with a check for $13,000 for the HAEA, Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) Association.
Proceeds from the April 21 ‘Taste of Union’ are being donated to HAEA. Ten-year old Chacon, who suffers with HAE, served as ambassador for the event.
“Jack was a great advocate for this cause,” said Monguso.
“I would like to thank the Taste of Union committee for helping to raise money and awareness for HAE,” said Chacon. “We have been raising money for HAE for about 3 years and this was the best year ever.”
Chacon said his goal this year was to raise $3,000. “We exceeded that goal by a lot because of the Taste of Union,” he said. “I thank you all for coming and I couldn’t have done it without you.”
