UNION, NJ – Union police are warning residents of recent thefts of landscaper’s equipment.

According to a Facebook post from the Union Police, over the last two weeks overnight thefts of landscaper’s trucks and trailers from storage yards have been reported.  Police say one theft was on Stanley Terrance and another was on Rahway Avenue.

According to police, they recovered some of the stolen trucks in Newark, but most of the blowers, mowers and other equipment are still missing.

Police are encouraging landscapers to take steps to secure their trucks and property.  “Whether it’s installing GPS trackers, cameras, or alarms, please do something to help prevent a future theft,” read the post.  Police recommend putting a name or phone number on tools and lawn equipment.

“If you have a landscaper or know of one in town, please share this with them,” concluded the post.
