Girls on the Run of New Jersey East is excited to empower a new group of girls during the upcoming fall season. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that inspires girls in 3rd through 8th grade to be joyful, healthy, and confident. The volunteer-led program brings together groups of 8-15 girls for a ten-week program that encourages character development, social and emotional learning, and service to the community.
This season, approximately 15 Girls on the Run sites will be held at school and park-based locations throughout Union County. Two Union Township teams, one for girls in grades 3 - 5 and the other for girls in grades 6 - 8, will meet at the Union High School track on Wednesdays, 6- 7:15 p.m. and Saturdays 9 - 10:15 a.m.. The season starts September 14 and will run through mid-November. The program fee for the fall season is $209, and financial assistance is available.
