UNION, NJ – Five-hundred fans will be permitted to attend Union High School football games this season, said Athletic Director Linda Ionta.

According to guidelines put out by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, and because occupancy restrictions may limit in-person game access for families and fans, the NJSIAA recommends schools live stream games and/or post-game coverage in order to provider “greater public access to scholastic sports competition”.

Ionta said the district is working with Union’s TV34 to live-stream home football games, some boys and girls soccer games, and some field hockey games.

“We are going to make sure the parents of all of our athletes, cheerleaders and band members get access to the games first,” said Ionta.  “Live streaming will help more of the community to be able to see the games.”
