UNION, NJ – At the recent Township Committee meeting, a Mayor’s Award was presented to the winner and runner up of Jefferson School’s 23rd Annual Mayor’s Spelling Bee contest, Oseka Balogun and Andrew Arsi.

“These children are able to spell words that are amazing,” said Mayor Suzette Cavadas.  “They’re so young and can do so much.”

“First, I’d like to thank everyone who helped me get to this point,” said second place winner Arsi.  “I’d like to congratulate the first place winner Oseka.  I’d like to thank my family and friends who helped me study and tutored me.”
