ELIZABETH, N.J. -- The Union Catholic swim team did it again.
For the second straight season, the Vikings finished the regular season undefeated when UC defeated Elizabeth and Johnson in a tri-meet on Thursday at the Dunn Center.
UC scored 126 points, Elizabeth had 112 and Johnson finished with 70 as the Vikings completed its regular season with an 8-0 record.
The Vikings took first place in the first eight events of the meet.
UC’s Julian Kaniuka finished his fantastic freshman regular season undefeated in individual events by winning the 50-meter freestyle in 23.71 and the 100 butterfly in 56.93, and he also swam a leg on the victorious 200 medley relay.
UC also picked up victories from Hunter Lee, who won the 200 individual medley in 2:26.27, and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay, James Scacifero, who took first in the 200 freestyle (2:10.48) and swam on the 200 free relay, Kate Fuhrmann, who captured the 100 freestyle in 56.29, and Anna Gordon, who won the 500 freestyle in 6:09.17.
Stewart Adams and Antonio Constable were part of the winning 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay for UC, and Miranda Mouris was a member of the 200 medley relay.
