HESAA Financial Aid Information Session

On Tuesday, October 25, the Library will be hosting a Financial Aid Information Session in partnership with the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) for high school students and their families.

“This session will provide families with information on all of the federal and state grants, scholarships, and loan programs available through the FAFSA,” said Jackie Hincapie, Library Associate for Teen Services.  “Key information and requirements on filing the FAFSA will be covered.”

Teen Creative Writing Workshop

YA author, Mia Siegert will be hosting a creative writing workshop for teens in grades 9 and up on Thursday, November 10 at 4:00 p.m.

“Aspiring teen writers are welcome to join us to share their work, receive feedback, and learn more about the craft of writing,” said Hincapie.

Teen Open Mic Night

Teens in grades 9 and up are invited to come in and share their talents at the Union Public Library's first ever Teen Open Mic Night on Tuesday, Nov.22 at 5 p.m.  

“We invite singers, poets, musicians, dancers, writers, comedians, and performers of all kinds to attend,” said Hincapie.  “Sign up is required, and acts are limited to 5 minutes or less and may require approval.”
