The Jumble Store Thrift Shop re-opens on Wednesday September 2nd

The Jumble Store, a non profit thrift store, will re-open for the 2015-2016 year on Wednesday, September 2nd at 11:00am. We’ve received lots of WONDERFUL donations this summer, so be there bright and early to snag the best deals!

The Jumble Store is open Wednesday and Friday 11am-5pm; Thursday 11am-8pm; Saturday 10am-5pm; and closed Sunday through Tuesday and is located at 110 Walnut Avenue in Cranford. Donations are welcomed during store hours.

The Jumble Store is owned and operated by the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield (JLEP), a non-profit women’s group committed to promoting community service and developing the potential of women. Visit www.jlepnj.org or email information@jlepnj.org to learn more and get involved.

The Jumble Store serves as the primary fundraiser for the Career Closet, which provided FREE business wear and accessories to women re-entering the workforce; Teen Closet, which provides FREE resume and college essay editing, and FREE career wear to underserved HS seniors; and JLEP College Scholarships.

Mark your calendar for our upcoming Special sales! The Jumble Store will have its 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Extravaganza on Friday, September 25th from 4-8pm & Saturday, September 26th from 10am-5pm. On Saturday, October 10th the winter coat sale begins.

Friends of the Union Library Plan Trip to Longwood Gardens

UNION, NJ - The Friends of the Union Public Library and BCB Community Bank have planned a trip to Longwood Gardens for Sunday, May 20.

The $50.00 fee includes bus trip, entrance to gardens, and snacks.  RSVP by May 1.  The bus leaves the Library municipal lot on Morris Avenue at 9:00 a.m. and returns at 6:00 p.m.

Karate at the Union Public Library

UNION, NJ - Sensei Andrew Crescenzo from USA Karate from USA Karate & Fitness will be teaching a four-week series of 30 minute karate classes.  All levels welcome.

Classes run from Saturday, April 21 through Saturday, May 12.  Ages 3-6:  12:00 p.m.  Ages 7-11:  12:30 p.m.

Cranford Man Dies After Wrong-Way Crash on Route 9

WOODBRIDGE, NJ – A Cranford man died after his car collided with another vehicle on Route 9 on Sunday.
