On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, families and friends of the Hispanic Law Enforcement Association of Union County gathered together at Kean University for a fun and competitive basketball game. Taken from the HLEAUC's website, "The proceeds from this event will benefit our scholarships at Kean University, Union County College and the HLEA Memorial Scholarship. In addition we will donate a portion of the proceeds to the "Basketball Cop Foundation." This foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building relationships between our country's Law Enforcement and the youth in our communities through “Trust.” The success of last year’s event enabled us to award 5 scholarships."
The Max Challenge of Springfield/Union sponsored the event, donating a 10-week Challenge to a lucky winner, and sponsoring towels for the players. Sara Kirsch, the manager of the Springfield/Union Center was present at the event to pull the winning raffle ticket and share information about the Max Challenge's 10-week total body transformation program.
