Summit-based nonprofit Family Promise will hold their annual Fall Fling on Friday, November 20, from 7-11 PM at beautiful Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit.
Fall Fling is the most significant fundraiser each year for Family Promise, the nation’s leading nonprofit helping homeless families regain their independence. The evening includes a cocktail buffet and both live and silent auctions to raise funds for the continued support and development of Affiliates nationwide. Last year, more than 120 friends and supporters attended and the event raised $285,000.
Family Promise has been working to end homelessness for 27 years, focusing on the compassion of fellow Americans. The organization has grown from a small, New Jersey-based nonprofit into a national organization operating 192 Affiliates in 42 states.
Family Promise has served more than 650,000 homeless and low-income family members, the majority of them children. Its mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence. Family Promise Affiliates serve thousands of families each year by providing shelter, food, and a host of other comprehensive support services. The organization focuses on resolving a family’s homelessness by keeping them together, stabilizing their lives, and providing ongoing support. Family Promise volunteers, 160,000 strong, are at the heart of these efforts.
