UNION, NJ – The Union High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams had a tough go of it at Tuesday’s games.
In the girl’s game against Westfield, Grace Elliot scored off a corner by Josie Greenwood to help Westfield, Number 16 in the State Top 20, earn a 3-0 victory over Union at Union.
Hannah Liddy and Taylor Morgan each scored a goal in the second half, while Greenwood had two assists. Lizzie Brucia posted her third consecutive shutout with five saves for Westfield. Caitlyn Finnerty made eight saves for Union.
The boys team had no easier time in their game against Plainfield. Plainfield’s Narvis Bent found the back of the net three times, sparking the 4-1 triumph over Union at Plainfield.
Jean Paul Leiva also hit for Plainfield, which received five saves from Milton Moreno in net. Mike Cano-Jaco had the one goal for Union in the game.
