UNION, NJ – The Township of Union Police Department held a walkout ceremony at Police Headquarters for Reverend Donald L. Brand who retired today as the police chaplain after 18 years.  A large group of cheering police and township officials were on hand to wish the Reverend well in his retirement.  Mayor Figueiredo said, “I want to congratulate Pastor Brand on his retirement and thank him for his 18 years of service to our Police Department and 34 years of leading his congregation at Grace Lutheran Church.”

“I am very honored and humbled by this event,” said Reverend Brand.  “Serving as Police Chaplain will always be a highlight of my ministry.”

Dan Zieser, Director of Police, added, ”Reverend Brand has been our police chaplain for 18 years, and served our department well, served our community well”.
