UNION, NJ —  UPDATED:  As of 10:30 Monday evening, just one lane of Route 22 West in Union was open as workers from JCP&L continued to fix a leaning utility pole, according to Ron Morano, a representative of JCP&L.

Westbound traffic was stopped dead just before 6 p.m. Monday night, drivers reported.

According to Morano, police were directing traffic around the area. At 6:55 p.m., the company was en route to fix the problem and by about 7:30 p.m. one lane had been re-opened. Traffic remained slow for hours.
