UNION, NJ – The Union Farmer’s Market begins on Thursday, June 21, and this year, “The Sounds” will entertain.
Bringing talent and local artists to the Farmers Market stage, the musical component of the market began last year with the Special Improvement District (SID) sponsoring the music series, titled “Jazz Thursdays.”
Kicking off the markets this year is Tru-Sol, a R&B male quartet group representing Jersey City, who harnessing both soulful and gospel backgrounds, captivating melodies, harmonies and unforgettable lyrics.
According to SID Director Fatimah Raymond, “The Sounds promise to bring various genres of music and sound throughout the season with Rock, Jazzy Blues, Folk, Americana, R&B, Soul, Latin Jazz, and Oldies from the 60’s, 70’s and more.”
This year the entertainment is on a bi-weekly schedule from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Other scheduled performances include Matthew Runciman, on July 5, and Richie Olivera, on July 19.
The Famers Market, located at the Town Hall front parking, 1976 Morris Ave, and is open from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. every Thursday. Parking is available in the lot in front of Town Hall, the Morris Ave. at Adams St. lot, the Stowe Ave. lot, and on Stuyvesant Ave.
