Union Township Chamber Plans 62nd Annual Gala and Installation of Officers

            “There’s No Business Like Chamber Business” is the theme of the Union Township Chamber of Commerce’s 62nd Annual Gala, scheduled for Friday evening, April 7, at the Galloping Hill Caterers in Union.  BCB Community Bank of Union has signed on as the Major Event Sponsor, and Sharon Patel of Patel Printing Plus is Chair of the event.

            The event will feature a number of awards to be given to various business and community groups, including: “President’s Award” to Deep Foods, Inc., the “James T. Schaefer Civic Award” to Charles Minton of Fire and Security Specialists,  “Spirit of Union Award” to Union Township Clerk Eileen Birch and Kevin Woodridge of the Union Recreation Department, “You ARE the Chamber Award” to the four Union branches of the Gateway Family YMCA,  and Business of the Year Awards” to ConnectOne Bank and Maplecrest Ford Lincoln.

            Additionally, the following individuals will be installed as officers of the board of directors for the coming year: President – Angel Cartagena of Batteries Plus Bulbs;  Senior Vice President and Treasurer – Eugene Mitchell of Investors Bank;  Vice President, Programming - Sharon Patel of Patel Printing Plus;  Vice President, Economic Development – David Arminio of the Union Township Historical Society; Vice President, Community Relations – Julie D’Aloia of ConnectOne Bank; Vice President, Membership – Joseph Stampone of Major Printing; and Immediate Past President – Cecil Cates of CMIT Solutions.

                        “This year, the Chamber is ‘going Broadway’ and will highlight all the growth that it has experienced over the last year,” said Chamber CEO James Masterson. “We are grateful to BCB Bank for their exceptional support, and we also salute all of our honorees for their service and dedication to the Union community.”
