CRANFORD – Union County College men’s Basketball player Tyheem Burno participated in the 2019 All-American JUCO Showcase that was held in Atlanta, Georgia over the summer. The National Collegiate Athletic Association’s showcase is for the nation’s best junior college players who are entering their sophomore year to showcase their skills over a three-day period.

Tyheem was one of only three basketball guards invited to compete in the Showcase representing Region XIX of the National Junior College Athletic Association. In his time at the Showcase, Tyheem competed against the best junior college players from throughout the country. The showcase has hundreds of coaches in attendance from four-year colleges as well as many NBA Scouts.

This past academic year Tyheem was a First Team All-Region player and named to the Garden State Athletic Association (GSAC) First Team All-GSAC.

“Union County College is proud of Tyheem for being invited to participate in the Showcase,” stated men’s Basketball Head Coach Jerry Henderson. “He committed to improving his skills throughout the year, which is evident from his average scoring of 20.9 points per game.
