UNION, NJ – The Township of Union Police Explorers participated in a park clean up at Kawameeh Park on Sunday.

Nine Explorers participated and cleaned up the park area.  “All the Explorers were happy to help keep the town clean and volunteered their Sunday morning to participate,” said Union Police Sgt. Tim Ford.

Explorers range in age from 14-18.  They selected Kawameeh Park since it was not part of the Township’s Clean Up the previous weekend celebrating Earth Day.

The Union Explorers Program participants are high school students interested in law enforcement as a possible career.  Explorers receive training in CPR, traffic control, accident investigations, crime prevention, communications and assist the Township with community events.
