UNION, NJ – Over 200 Union Farmer football players, cheerleaders, friends and family gathered together Thursday evening to celebrate the upcoming football season.

Organized by Fifth Quarter Club President Holly Schneider and held at the Knights of Columbus, the event included use of the Knights pool, a DJ, snacks, games and a dance by the high school cheerleaders.

“I came out tonight to support the team,” said wide receiver and cornerback Chuck Ifewekwune, 17.  “We all want to show some love to the Union Farmers. We’re ready for the season.”

“This is a great way to raise money for the team and to show the kids they can have fun in a very positive way,” said Schneider. 

“This kind of event helps to build a better team,” said quarterback Andrew Sanborn, 15.  “We are all here to support the team.”

“Everyone was all smiles,” added Schneider..  “I think we definitely made an impact to show the kids and the community that the 5th Quarter Club is family and stands behind our players and cheerleaders.”
