UNION, NJ — Union High School football player Darrell Davis has been tapped to play in the Phil Simms North-South All-Star Football Classic this summer as an offensive lineman.
The annual classic is New Jersey’s oldest high school all-star football game, according to organizers. Started by group of New Jersey high school coaches in 1979 to showcase state’s high school seniors' talent, it pits players from North Jersey against players from South Jersey.
Davis will be attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the fall.
“Darrell was a three-year starter at UHS and was named first team all-conference as a junior and senior,” said Union High School football coach Louis Grasso. “He was also named to the All State Group 5 Team.”
This year’s contest will be held at Kean University on June 26. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
