UNION, NJ -  In boy's baseball on Thursday, Jake Vall-Llobera went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs as Westfield defeated Union, 12-5 in Westfield. 

James Friel went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBIs and two runs while Michael Knapp pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits, with one strikeout and two walks for Westfield, which had a total of eight hits and scored six runs in the second inning. Matthew Manning had two RBIs and one run, while Matt LaCorte went 1-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.

Alex Pansini went 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Jake Lerie went 1-for-2 with three runs. Dren Gocaj and Jamie Olivo each had one RBI while Quincy Bryant went 3-for-4 with one run for Union. Nestor Conforti went 1-for-3 with one run and Richard Jones went 1-for-4 with one run.

In girl's softball,  Sarah Gluck went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs to lead Cranford to a 14-0 win over Union at Union.  

Jayna Mallon went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Cranford. Liz Casazza, Tessa Ferentinos, and Brenna Dolan each had two hits and an RBI in the win. Dolan and Bridget Dineen combined for six shutout innings in the circle.
