UNION, NJ - Lindsay Gerrato scored a game-high 21 points as 10th-seeded Gov. Livingston defeated seventh-seeded Union, 33-31, in the second round of the Union County Tournament  at Union.

Skylar Dowling scored five points while Stacey Berliner, Allie McGlynn and Lara Romano had two points apiece for Gov. Livingston, which outscored its opponent, 13-4, in the second quarter to take a 25-9 lead. Fiona Kerr added one point. Nneka Moneme scored 10 points, Ya'Niyah Dickerson netted eight points and Brianna McNair had seven points for Union. Alexis McDowell scored four points and Allison Seater added two points.

In boys basketball action, Justin Beckett hit seven 3-pointers and had 23 points for eighth-seeded Union in a 76-55 win over 16th-seeded Cranford at Union. Union built a 45-25 lead in the first half.

Corey Thelisme put 18 points on the board and Ryan Dolce grabbed 12 rebounds in the win. Chris Librera scored 29 points and Kyle Ledford contributed 12 for Cranford. Next, Union will play top-seeded Linden in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
