UNION, NJ - In boys basketball, Union outscored American History 17-13 in the fourth quarter to go on to earn a 59-47 comeback victory in Union. Down 31-28 at halftime, Union outscored American History 14-3 in the third quarter to take a 42-34 lead into the fourth.
Girls basketball saw Samirah Henderson score 11 points, including her 1,000th career point, to lead Rahway to a 38-36 victory over Union in Rahway.
Henderson broke through the scoring barrier in the fourth quarter on a breakaway layup. The senior added five assists and four steals in the win as Qua'Naijah McDowell poured in eight points. Jordyn Whited posted a team-high six assists to go along with five points, five rebounds and two steals.Allison Seater and Nneka Moneme both scored 15 points to lead Union as Krizia Aponte totaled five points.
Rahway held a seven-point lead heading into the final frame but Union was able to whittle down the deficit in the final minute with two steals to make it a one-possession game.
