UNION, NJ -The Union High School Baton Twirling Competition Team, coached by Nicole Marie Placca, kicked off their first competition of the season this past weekend with a total of seventeen awards as a team and as soloists. 

The Union High School twirlers, who have two years or less experience, competed in the New Jersey State Organization against twirlers who have nearly quadruple their experience and who also are able to attend private studios.  The girls’ success this year and in past years in these competitions speaks volumes about the training they are receiving, their talent and their work ethic.  

The Competition Team placed first in Twirl Team and first in Twirl & Dance Team. The individual awards are as follows:
