UNION, NJ – Union High School’s Class of 2017 Valedictorian Victoria Stiritz and Salutatorian Andre Marques were recognized this week by the Township Committee.
Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo said Stiritz attended Union High School for all four years and has a grade point average of 4.94. “Absolutely amazing,” said Figuriedo.
Marks, also a 4-year Union High School graduate, has a 4.77 grade point average.
“This shows you the wonderful work that’s being done in our educational system here in Union,” said Figueiredo.
“I’m incredibly humbled and incredibly honored to receive this award,” said Stiritz . “I’d like to thank everyone, especially my mom for always pushing me and motivating me to always do my best.”
“I’m privileged to be honored by the Township Committee,” said Marks. “I’d like to thank the supporters behind me: my family, my friends and my teachers who definitely helped guide me to be the man that I am today.”
“These two individuals are going to have an amazing future,” added Mayor Cavadas. “As a mom, I’d be honored to have my children look up to you both as role models.”
