UNION, NJ – Looking to take a course on basic PC skills? Or maybe learn about Google Analytics or QuickBooks? What about gaining a better understanding of WordPress or Microsoft PowerPoint?
Beginning August 1, Union Public Library cardholders will have free access to Lynda.com, offering an online library of over 6,000 current and engaging video tutorials taught by recognized industry experts.
Free online courses include Microsoft Office, LinkedIn and Twitter, digital photography and movie making, cloud computing, network administration, and web design.
According to Laura Pecoraro, Union Public Library’s Adult Services Librarian, library cardholders can manage course history, bookmark courses to view later, create playlists, and receive certificates of completion to add to a resume or LinkedIn profile.
Every course features searchable transcripts to find quick answers to questions.
For younger learners, Union Public Library’s newest digital resource, TumbleBooks, is for children in grades K-6.
TumbleBooks offers a collection of over 1,100 titles, including talking picture books, chapter books, videos, non-fiction titles, playlists, books in languages other than English, graphic novels and math stories.
