UNION, NJ – Union police responded to a robbery call on Saturday afternoon from an employee at the CVS store at 1178 Morris Avenue.
According to Union police, the employee reported the store had been robbed by a man with a knife at about 3:30 p.m. Officers responded and determined the suspect had fled on foot towards Kean University.
Union police say a K9 from the Union County Sheriff's Office responded and picked up a scent that led them to the Union Train Station. The dog led officers up the steps to the train platform, which led officers to believe the suspect got on a train.
An investigation by police determined that the suspect had also been in another nearby store prior to CVS. With the assistance of detectives, police have identified a possible suspect.
The suspect is identified as Julian Muolo, 21, from Syracuse, NY. Detectives signed criminal complaints for 1st degree robbery against Muolo, who police believe fled the Union area. Detectives have contacted the Syracuse Police Department.
