UNION, NJ – Union police responded to an overturned car on Route 22 near the Union Plaza Diner Tuesday morning

According to police, at about 8:45 Tuesday morning, a Union policeman observed a 2005 Nissan drive off the road at 2466 Route 22 and overturn. The female driver was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by Union firefighters.  The driver of the car was transported to Overlook Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
