UNION, NJ – Union police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who they say broke into Mario’s Restaurant early Thursday morning.

Police say the man forced open a door to Mario’s Tutto Bene on Chestnut street, stole money and liquor and fled in a white Ford van.  The van, police say, contains lettering that reads “Zion Pentecostal”.  Several area Zion churches have been investigated, but with no connection to the crime.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the man or be familiar with the van to contact Detective Chris Lensi at CLensi@uniontownship.com or call 908-851-5030.  Police say they are attempting to gather clearer surveillance photos.
