UNION, NJ – A recent story about Union's Lacerda family by Tapinto Union caught the attention of the Union Rotary. Chrissy Lacerda spoke at last week's Rotary Club meeting and so inspired club members that all of the Rotary's proceeds from the Generosity Series 5K run will be donated to the family. Generosity New Jersey is a multi-charity 5K Run/Walk that will take place on June 4 in Oak Ridge Park in Clark.
The Lacerda family is facing severe financial difficulty as a result of a brain aneurysm Michael Lacerda suffered last May. Michael is making strikes in his recovery, but is unable to work and the family’s $2,400 monthly COBRA bill and other expenses are piling up.
According to his wife Chrissy, Michael has short term memory loss, balance and coordination issues. He can walk slowly, but does not have a lot of endurance. He has cognitive and memory deficits. He cannot work. He cannot drive. He lost hearing in his right ear.
“But he has the best attitude around,” said Chrissy.
Generosity New Jersey features a professional pre-race warm-up & stretch, a professional announcer, one of a kind gear time with friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and other charitable individuals. Oak Ridge Park is a 90 acre county park located in Clark.
