UNION, NJ – Union seniors got a chance on Monday to celebrate the summer with a free BBQ and entertainment at the Union Senior Center.
“This is a great way to bring all of the people in our clubs together,” said Supervisor of Senior Citizen Activities Phyllis Monguso. “We welcome all Union seniors to participate today so they can be part of all of the great things we do here at the Center.”
“What a great success,” said Township Committeewoman and Commissioner of Senior Services Michele Delisfort. “The Township Senior Center lead by Phyllis and her team hosted a great summer BBQ event for our seniors. We had a wonderful time.”
“Most importantly the BBQ provided a venue for our seniors to remain socially active with one another,” continued Delisfort. “Special thank you to Overlook Healthcare for providing our seniors with an ice cream truck which offered a delicious array of treats throughout the day”
Della Woodley came to the barbeque with her friend Fran Donnelly. “I love it here,” said Woodley. “All the people are pleasant, kind and nice. They really try to accommodate all of the seniors. Today is a great day.”
“This is wonderful for seniors,” said Donnelly. “It’s so nice of them to treat us to this barbeque to celebrate the Fourth of July.”
