UNION, NJ – Union Mayor Michele Delisfort and the Township Committee have announced a Martin Luther King Jr. Day “I Have a Dream” community celebration on Monday, Jan. 20.

The event will feature an ensemble of local children performing a passionate reading of King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in honor of his life and legacy.

“Dr. King believed in a nation of freedom and justice for all,” said Delisfort, “I’m excited that the Township is bringing this day of service to our community.”

This event is being held in lieu of the annual United Community Center’s Celebration at Hannah Caldwell School.  The event begins at 12:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 1976 Morris Avenue.

The celebration will also feature a performance by the Vauxhall Community Choir and individual readings by local students on how Dr. King has impacted their lives.
