UNION, NJ - The Union Public Library has announced two historical programs sponsored by the Township of Union Historical Society coming to the library in January.
The Fighting Parson: The Story of Rev. James Caldwell, will be presented on Monday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. Performer/Counselor Meridoc Burkhardt has inspired Union students via character education, especially citizenship, through the lens of a prominent historical figure - Rev. James Caldwell. This presentation, made possible through a Union County HEART Grant, is for audiences of all ages.
Tom Beisler and Tom Haggerty, trustees from the Union Township Historical Society, will present a historical perspective on Mayor Biertuempfel: A Legend in His Own Time and Ours. This presentation will take place on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m.
The history of Union comes alive at the Union Public Library. All programs are free and open to the public. Parking and elevator access is available.
