UNION, NJ - The Township of Union Recreation Department is proud to bring back their Movies Under the Stars through the Department of Recreation for its thirds year. Held at Rabkin Park, the Movies draw residents from the far reaches of town, and provide a one of a kind source of family entertainment.

“We are so excited to provide families another reason to enjoy the outdoors,” said Mayor Manuel Figueiredo. “Our recreation department has been working on an exciting pair of movies for this year.”

The first movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be held on Friday, June 24th at 8:45 p.m.

In this exciting continuation of the Star Wars saga, visionary director J.J. Abrams brings to life the motion picture event of a generation. As Kylo Ren and the sinister First Order rise from the ashes of the Empire, Luke Skywalker is missing when the galaxy needs him most. It's up to Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, a defecting stormtrooper, to join forces with Han Solo and Chewbacca in a desperate search for the one hope of restoring peace to the galaxy.

Admission to Movies Under the Stars is free and Free popcorn will be available while supplies last. For those participating in the KidVenture program, passport books and stickers will be available at the Department of Recreation tent.
