UNION, NJ – A CodeRED alert was sent to Union residents Friday afternoon with an update about the continuing winter storm clean up.

Mayor Suzette Cavadas said, “as cleanup continues from Winter Storm Quinn, we would like to remind you that there are still many downed wires across town. PSEG is working as quickly as possible to address this issue, however, it is projected that work will continue into the weekend.”

“As such, we remind you to use caution when walking or driving and assume that any downed wires you may encounter are LIVE.  Please do not touch, step on or drive over downed lines as doing so can be fatal, and please respect any traffic barricades or detours as these have been put into place for your safety.”
