Township Committeeman and Fire Commissioner Manuel Figueiredo said, “I wish you the best during your 16 weeks of training.  Hang in there.”  Referring to the crowd of Union firefighters at the ceremony, Figueiredo said, “the firefighters in the back of the room will be watching out for you.”

“You had a dream,” said Township Administrator Ron Manzella to the new firefighters.  “You’re dedicating yourself to something you believe is important, something that will make you better because you are giving of yourself.  You’ve entered a community, a brotherhood, a family.”
