UNION, NJ – LTJG Stephen E. Patricco of Union, the son of Mary Ellen Patricco and the late Stephen A. Patricco, was awarded this “Wings of Gold” as a United States Naval Aviator in December.

Patricco graduated from the United States Naval Academy with an Aerospace Engineering degree, focusing in Aeronautical Engineering. Following graduation and commissioning, Patricco reported to Pensacola, Fla. for Aviation Preflight Indoctrinate (API).  He then reported to Primary Flight Training with VT-3 at NAS Whiting Field.

While at NAS Whiting Field, Patricco was awarded the Academic Achievement Award and the Commodore's List Award for Primary Flight Training. Upon selecting Strike, he reported to NAS Kingsville, Texas and began training in September 2015 with the VT-22 Squadron. 

Patricco will be stationed at Whidbey Island, Wash. to the fleet replacement squadron (FRS) VAQ-129 to fly the F-18G, where he will continue his service to the United States.
