Music from WWI Era at the Union Public Library

The Union Public Library will be hosting a concert performance by the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo on Saturday, November 3 at 3:00 p.m.  Offering a mix of early Dixieland, military music and other standards that were popular during the 1910s, the performance will be additionally accompanied by educational content and narrative to honor of the 100th anniversary of the WWI armistice.

Based in Union County, the band is led by 16 year old professional trumpet player Florian Schantz, who formed the group when he was 9 years old.  Florian has since performed over 375 engagements across NJ, NY, CT and Germany.

This program is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

All library programs are free and open to the public and elevator access is available.
