UNION, NJ – Plans for Union’s 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration have been set for Sunday, September 15 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Town Hall, 1976 Morris Ave.
“Diversity is one of our township’s greatest strengths,” said Mayor Michele Delisfort. “Hispanic and Latino Americans are major contributors to our society, and it is time to celebrate their role in our history and culture.”
According to the Township’s website, the event will feature Latin music and tastes from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia and across Central and South American.
2:00 – Spoken Program
2:30 - Viva Flamenco
3:30 - Peruvians for Progress Cultural Dance
4:00 - Free Salsa Class, taught by Roman Cruz, a world-renowned dancer and instructor
4:30 - Otto Show Dance Studio
5:30 - David Cedeño Orchestra
The celebration will feature local Latin food vendors such as Gusto y Sabor Colombiano, El Lechon de Negron, The Mexi-Boys and Magic Fountain Union Creamery.
There will also be free face painting and cultural arts and crafts such as DIY Day of the Dead mask making and grab & go skull masks for children of all ages.
This year’s event is sponsored by the Township of Union, BCB Bank-Union, Union Center SID, Vermella Union, and TAPinto Union.
