UNION, NJ – Residents grabbed their lawn chairs and experienced Union’s 3rd Annual Shakespeare in the Park performance Thursday night, hosted by the Union Recreation Department.

“Verily, Madly, Thine” is an hour-long play focusing on the special brand of temporary madness that overtakes people when they fall madly in love.  The play, performed in Rabkin Park, featured an array of moments from Shakespeare’s plays as well as a few selections from more contemporary authors who have been inspired by Shakespeare’s originals.

The play, performed by Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s summer touring group, featured a sprinkling of music and a collection of scenes about falling in love.

“It’s a beautiful evening and this seemed like a fun thing to do,” said Union resident Evette.  “It was actually very entertaining.”
