KENILWORTH, NJ – The Blackthorn Restaurant and Irish Pub located at 651 North Michigan Avenue has officially been foreclosed. The ownership has reverted back to First Republic Bank, a court order states as of September 27, 2019. The court order was issued by the Superior Court of New Jersey and provides that the owners were in arrears of the total sum of $2,616,107.73 in mortgage payments.

First Republic has now assumed the responsibility for maintaining the site and the bank's counsel has assured the Borough they will do all necessary cleanups moving forward.  All charges for the site’s maintenance prior to the bank’s responsibility, which was initially led by councilman and public works chairman Mark David, have been assessed and added to the Blackthorn’s tax liability.
