KENILWORTH, NJ - As part of Merck's decision to move all of its New Jersey Operations into a single Rahway headquarters by 2023, it was announced their Kenilworth location will close. The 210-acre Kenilworth site has been the location of the life science company’s headquarters since 2015.
In response, Kenilworth Mayor Linda Karlovitch issued the following message:
The news of Merck’s departure is of course a significant disappointment to our Borough.
Over the years we have been a good and supportive neighbor. The company continues to flourish with almost 48 billion in sales last year and an average stock profit of $5.37 per share. We have been in contact with the Government Affairs personal for the company.
I have directed municipal officials to reach out to the State Economic Representative so that we can assess our best course of action to protect Kenilworth.
Sometimes neighbors do let you down.
