UNION, NJ – The Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound will be closed for repair work beginning tonight, Thursday, June 25.
According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) the closure, for concrete repair work, will begin at 8 p.m., Thursday, June 25, until 5 a.m., tomorrow, Friday, June 26, and continuing for four consecutive Thursday nights through Thursday, July 16. NJDOT’s contractor, I.E.W. Construction Group, is scheduled to close and detour the Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound for concrete bridge deck repairs. The following signed detour will be in place overnight:
Morris Avenue eastbound ramp to Route 22 eastbound detour:
· Motorists traveling on Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound wishing to take the ramp to Route 22 eastbound will be directed to continue on Route 82/Morris Avenue eastbound
· Take the jughandle across from the Lowe’s Home Store to make a U-turn onto Route 82 westbound
· Take Route 82 westbound and take the ramp for Garden State Parkway/Route 22
· Stay right at the fork to Route 22 eastbound
If work is completed early, the ramp will reopen sooner. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
